How can I convert physical shares into Demat form

To convert physical shares into Demat form, follow these steps:

  • Open a Demat Account: Ensure you have an active Demat account with a Depository Participant (DP), such as brokerage firm.
  • Obtain a DRF: Request a Deposit Request Form (DRF) from your DP. Click here to know what is DRF (What is meant by DRF FAQ link will be added.)
  • Fill Out the DRF: Complete the DRF, providing details such as the company name, ISIN (International Securities Identification Number), and certificate numbers of the shares.
  • Submit the Documents: Submit the filled DRF along with the original physical share certificates to your DP.
  • Verification and Processing: The DP will verify the details and send the documents to the company’s registrar for processing.
  • Credit to Demat Account: Once approved, the shares will be credited to your Demat account in electronic form.
