When and why is the stock going under surveillance for information list (unsolicited SMS).

When there are complaints of investors receiving unsolicited SMS messages with information about the company or its shares without their request or consent, a stock may be placed under surveillance for information lists (unsolicited SMS). Investors may be misled and the stock price may be manipulated by the inaccurate or misleading information in these messages.

The stock exchange or regulator might put the stock under watch to find out where these unwanted SMS messages are coming from and to make sure that investors are not being misled or hurt. This watch could also help keep an eye on trading activity to spot any possible manipulation in the market.
