What is a debit spread vs. a credit spread?

  • Debit Spread: You pay a net cost to enter the trade (e.g., buying an expensive option and selling a cheaper one).
  • Credit Spread: You receive a net premium when entering the trade (e.g., selling a more expensive option and buying a cheaper one).

Both are common in options trading.
