What is meant by DRF? How can I get one?

A DRF (Deposit Request Form) is a document used in the securities market to request the transfer or deposit of physical shares into a dematerialized (Demat) account. It is commonly used when converting physical share certificates into electronic form.

To obtain a DRF:

  • Contact your Depository Participant (DP) (Brokerage firm).
  • Request the DRF from their office or check if it is available for download on their website.
  • Fill out the form as per the instructions and submit it along with the physical share certificates.
  • Your DP will process the request, and the shares will be deposited into your Demat account upon approval.
