What is the Concept of Face Value Split?

A face value split, also known as a stock split or share split, is a corporate action in which a company increases the number of its outstanding shares by issuing more shares to existing shareholders. The total market value of the shares remains the same, as the split does not add any real value to the company. The face value (nominal value) of each share is reduced proportionately to the increase in the number of shares.
